| Moderately hardy bamboo, very similar to P. praecox, sometimes with a dull yellow sulcus. Nice bamboo, early shooting. Mutates often to a yellowgreen variegated form. Shoots very early, yields good, edible shoots. This plant can be found in the botanical garden in the following locations:
